|Bio and Links|
I started researching my family history after my mother passed away in 2011. Fortunately for me she had everything written down so it gave me a good head start. My wife did not have much on her family so I started looking to see how much I could find on her family.|
I found out early on the only way to do this was to walk the entire cemetery and try to link each person back. Doing it this way I was able to find relatives that I wouldn't have been able find otherwise. Family plots give a lot of clues about the family that are not obvious otherwise.
I am happy to add any family information since it makes it easier for others to find the memorial, any bio information should be written so it can be copied over. Please use the edit tab and the Suggest a correction link when sending information or requesting a transfer, it makes it easier and reduces the chance of an error. If you are looking for a response to any questions, please provide an email address.
Any gravestone pictures I've posted may be used for non-commercial use, family trees, Ancestry, etc. Credit should be noted with the picture.
On Bio's MCOI is short for Morning Call Obituary Index. EEOI is short for Easton Express Obituary Index. PADI is short for Pennsylvania Department of Health Death Index.

|E Finn||RE: Sacred Heart Cemetery|
Great to hear from you re Sacred Heart. I encourage you (from afar) to consider working your magic!
I don't have a map, but I can provide some info. The main stone entry is on Fullerton Ave. In the day it was a grand entrance centered on a large cross within the grounds. I believe that the cemetery is bordered to the north by Mundy Lane, and by Catasauqua Road on the east. It is big.
The four other cemeteries which I believe are to the north with access from Mundy are: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery; Resurrection Cemetery, Polish National Catholic Church; St. Michael's & St. Andrew's Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery; Sons of Israel Cemetery.
When I visited Sacred Heart 15+ years ago, I used a page copied from a cemetery inventory/list I found at the Lehigh Valley Historical Society. The document has names and dates (transcribed from stones) by row number. Here's a link to the reference: http://www.lchs.museum/ChurchRecords.htm#Anchor-51540 Unfortunately the document is not on-line.
BTW, the Sacred Heart Church which owns/manages the cemetery is "up the road" at 336 N 4th in Allentown; 610-434-5171.
Thanks for giving this cemetery your consideration.

Sorry, but I don't know what the beginning of this conversation was ....
|Kelly Weirich||Elmer I. Schneck|
Is this Elmer the son of Samuel and Fianna (Gruver) Schneck?

Thank you for the edits and photo. If she is your relative, please let me know and I will transfer management to you.
HUGE thanks for your photos of the graves of Willoughby Haffner and his mom. (I SO love that you found the grave of the mother of an old soldier.) You also made my day because Willoughby has been near and dear to my heart since I first started researching his life. Hope you and yours have a wonderful weekend and, again, many thanks!

Thanks so much for posting the headstone for George and his wife Clara.
It is greatly appreciated.
Just a quick note with a big thank you for photographing the graves of David Gilbert and his wife. Beautifully done as always. Have a great week!
Sorry, according to the funeral home, his nickname is Jock not Jack.

Joe, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I was up in Bethlehem for some days and did not get to email till I was back home. Will contact Find A Grave about transferring the other memorial created by F. Otto for Horatius who is my second cousin and then will move all the info and delete mine. Carrie C.
Thank you for fixing my mother's memorial info. I apologize for coming across so harshly. I was not understanding of what this site was trying to accomplish. I understand now. I have joined and will place my own family photos. Thank you.
