Bio

I started doing genealogy in the 7th grade while taking Texas History in school and got back to the 1700s on one line of mom's side. That was 9 generations; 6 generations living in Texas! 5 generations in Guadalupe County! And that was before the internet! (This photo is my mom's great paternal grandparents.)

Since 2016: I am now retired, I'm doing all the Find A Grave research for both the Texas and Kansas sides of my family!
Sept 2016: I've just started doing AncestryDNA. If you are in one of the family lines for surnames I've listed below, let me know and we can compare matches! (I've also done GedMatch for BAILEY, NEELY, USSERY, McNEELY, KETCHUM.)
2017: I've done Y-DNA for males on my BAILEY, USSERY and NEELY lines.

=================================
Kansas (Neosho County) -- BAILEY, NEELY, HODSON, KENNEDY, FOX, KEPLEY, HANSEN, Van CLEAVE, FELKINS, HUDSON

Texas (Guadalupe and Caldwell Counties) -- USSERY, WRIGHT, APPLING, PEIRCE, KETCHUM, EUSTACE, HARTER, FARMER, COCHRAN, WILLE, McNEELY

Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky -- BAILEY, CARSON, HAYNES, MOULDS, LONG

Pennsylvania -- BAILEY, NEELY, WEEMS, MORTON

Louisiana -- BALL, MARTIN, LYLES

Other States -- WOLCOTT, WHEAT

My interests are:

1- The APPLING Cemetery, Guadalupe Co, TX. It is actually located in the middle of my family's land (handed down through 4 generations of the WRIGHTs to my mother/uncle).

2- The Don F. and Nellie (HAYNES) NEELY family from Neosho Co, KS. My dad's mom was one of the 12 children.

3- The David Levi and Huldah (HODSON) BAILEY family from Neosho Co, KS. My dad's dad was one of the 4 children.

4- The Mastin and Sarah USSERY descendants. Mastin was my grandfather's grandfather and he was also my grandmother's G-grandfather.

5- The George W and Eletha KEPLEY family from Neosho Co, KS. My great-aunt Marge Neely is their G-granddaughter. Also the descendants of Aunt Marge's other G-grandparents Frederick and Anna HANSEN.

6- The HIGHSMITH Cemetery, Guadalupe Co, TX and the USSERY Cemetery, Caldwell Co, TX. Most of my mom's Ussery relatives are buried in these two cemeteries.

7- The URBANA Cemetery, Neosho Co, KS. Some of my dad's Bailey and Neely relatives (both!) are here. I am working with one of dad's cousins to finish photographing this cemetery for F/G. He has the Cemetery records and has even dug up some stones under ground! We will also be finding GPS coordinates for the graves.

8- The Catholic Sisters/Fathers who were connected with San Antonio colleges (Incarnate Word, Our Lady of the Lake and St. Mary's). And residents of The Village at Incarnate Word. I have connections to all 3 schools.

9- Alumni and faculty from Rice University (formerly Rice Institute) in Houston.

** I do not create memorials from newspaper obituaries unless I have a connection to them: either my family or friends (or friends' loved ones), or through one of the categories above.

** For survivors' names: in my family, if we didn't want the public to know the names, we wouldn't put them in the obituary. If I have included any of your family's survivor names that you wish to have removed, let me know and I will remove them.

** If you have a closer connection (family or friend) to any memorial that I manage, and would like to care for them, I will gladly transfer!

** Note: I manage memorials. I may have created them, but I do not OWN them, so they are not "My Memorials".

** Use of military rank in a person's name is reserved for career 20-year retirees or military members who died while in the service.

** Any grave photos I have posted may be shared on your family (not for profit) sites. A note of credit would be nice, please.
** If you have a better grave photo than I do, let me know and I will change the order of photos.
** For use of photos of a person or family, please message me first. I do NOT add photos of a person without their family's permission to be used specifically on Find A Grave, not for any other purpose. Open the photo to see the caption for info about my source.
