Sorry, I should have added that I have some idea of the parents of Carl Friedrich Robert Kuhnau. He was born in Posen, West Prussia on March 27, 1842 and his parents were Johann Kuhnau (born 1820) and Frederike (born 1825). There are a number of Kuhnaus in the late 18th and early 19th Century in Posen (now Poznan, Poland) and as more and more records become available I've been trying to build a database of them all and then connect them together.
