FIRST, I would like say that I DO NOT WANT MY PICTURES USED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! THEN: ! am a retired principal/ school teacher (45years) at all grade levels: I taught elementary students, and English and history classes at the middle and high school levels. I also worked with Gifted and Talented students at all grade levels. My Vaughn Middle School, Reno,Nv, 7th & 8th graders(12 & 13 years old) built an $ 8ooo.oo monument to the U.S.S. Nevada Battleship, B.B.#36, on the state capital grounds, in Carson City, Nv. In 1993, they repaired the B.B. #36 Pearl Harbor-damaged battle flags. In 1994, they built Museum-Quality Flag Cases for these flags. In 1995, they secured the SIX,earned but-never-received, WW11 Battle Medals for a Pearl Harbor survivor. In 199O's, they visited /sailed in the U.S.S. Nevada Ballistic Nuclear Submarine, the S.S.B.N. #733, sent cookies, books etc. to the 2 crews, and honored them at Vaughn. These students are still working on the U.S.S. Nevada Projects now, in their 30's!!! Perhaps, being born during W.W. 11 has helped make these causes so dear to my heart! ( and,of course, the fact these kids needed REAL projects to work on!!) I am currently working on 12 family lines from: Illinois,Iowa,Missouri,Ohio,Oregon,Oklahoma, California, and,of course, Nevada. Some of the surnames I am working with are: Booth, Fitzgerald, Gearhardt, Oden, Daniels, Borg, Larson, Misterfeld, Simms, Mackenzie!! I am also looking for my birth family: Helser(Helen)? Fish? in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio? in the 20's -50's. EGSM
