I was born and raised in Fall River. I graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in 1976. I went into the military right after graduation in July 1976. I served 12 years in the Naval Reserves, I was the administrative support for the Seals, Seebees, and Divers. Made sure everyone got paid and all records were up to date. I worked directly with the Officers. I was very proud to serve.
I started my search on my family in the mid 90's. I had no idea I came from such a large family. My mother didn't even know of her fathers side of the family. Well, I found them all and shared it with her before she died. My father's side of the family has been documented in a book done by a distant cousin. My mother's side the "Wheatley's" came here to Fall River in 1866. Her mother's side came Michalewich/Korab came here 1901. I have added them all to findagrave. I am now adding graves from St. Mary's Cemetery in Fall River. This is a very old cemetery and they do not bury anyone there anymore. The records have disappeared and considered lost, but what they do have I will add. We will never know how many people are buried there.
