** Note 30 Jan 2015 I have gotten very behind in answering emails, I am working on it and will get back to as soon as I can. Thank you for your patients - Elizabeth **
I have found findagrave completely addicting. I think one reasons I like it so much is that I get to help others find lost love ones.
The memorials I post are a combination of family memorials and ones from photos I take at my local cemeteries. I do not have regular access to the internet. I try to get all the pictures I take online, but sometimes it takes awhile.
My philosophy regarding the pictures I take is to go ahead and post. This is especially true of temporary markers. I have seen temporary markers 40 years old. I have also noticed the new temporary markers are designed in such a way that they only last until the first rain. I go ahead and post and will gladly remove when a photo of the permanent marker is taken.
For the memorials I have posted in Brazos county, most likely I have a photo and simply have not had time to upload it. I try to get names in first, just in case something happens to the photos. I post all I take, but when weather is pretty the number of photos compared to the time I have on the internet....sometimes there is a delay.
For my family listed in findagrave...
The family groups are listed in my virtual cemeteries. Also below is listed my husband's and my grandparents.
Bernest Charles Evans Jr. Thank You so much for adding my uncle's grave. He's my dad's brother and for over 25 years my dad had no idea he had passed. The last we heard he was living in New York. This finally brings closure to our family.. I appreciate you. God Bless you.
Severe Lovell Horner #66181735 Elizabeth: Severe "Sev" Lovell Horner is my g-grandfather's brother. They were living together on the 1870 census in Bryan, TX. They came from Warrenton, VA, & I have researched them extensively. I would love to add a lot of info to his memorial if you would permit me to maintain it. My #47888721. Thank you for your consideration. Jo M.
Request Transfer Greetings Elizabeth! I am kindley requesting the transfer of William J. Berry's Memorial#74917570 to me, Member #47740230. He is my maternal great uncle and I try to keep family memorials together. Thank you for your consideration.
RE: Lena Plankey Please refer to Vermont, Death Records 1909-2008.You will find the entry for Lena Miner Plankey born 20 Mar 1894 and death 18 Jan 1964. Her parents are listed as: Henry Miner and Maglena Oastinuy. Monat was the surname of the family in Quebec, but it was anglicized to Miner. In the same way Oastinuy was an attempt of the record keeper to spell Ostiguy which was Meglena (Malvina's surname in Quebec). Ostiguy has been anglicized to Austin in some records. The Monat/Miners are my family.
O'Hare Graves Restland I noticed that you entered in the grave for Michael O'Hare at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. My Grandmother was his daughter Helen O'Hare Leonard and she is right near him. I was wondering if you could add her with a picture of her grave. I don't have all the details of her grave place but thought since you knew the area you might be able to do this. I am trying to piece my family together on this website. Thank You!
