Genealogy is very addictive but not having the final resting place for a member of our families can be very disappointing. I hope to have many ancestors of both mine and my husbands side of the family listed for future generations. Many burial locations are family cemeteries that will be eventually lost due to overgrowth and lack of care for the sites. Hopefully this will help others looking for their family.
Let us not forget those who came before us - Their lives, however long or brief, touch us all in so many ways
Let us learn from those who came before us - Their experiences, however exciting or mundane, have shaped our world today
Let us honour those who came before us - Their legacy, however great or small, is ours to carry forward
Woods Greetings Colleen, Sorry I didn't leave a note yesterday. I walked the sections with one of the caretakers, "Sammy" ,who had a plot map, so the locations should be quite accurate. He was quite helpful and thorough. I did a quick rubbing on the marker and was able to make out the name Mary and Woods. Sorry there isn't more. It was disappointing to me also. Regards, Mel
Photo requests St Mary Greetings, I spoke to the caretaker at St. Mary's on Mt Troy road and he said there is no section M, only number designations. St. Mary's in Sharpsburg has a section M but the markers are newer than what you're looking for. Please reply As always, Regards' Mel
RE: Patrick Leo Conway yes This is Patrick leo Conway obituary that was in the newspaper -- do you need a tranlation ?... I can do it for you --- I thought you might like it --if you want me to delete it --that is Ok -- I will Let me know what you might like me to do have a nice day graveplotter
RE: Catherine Corriveau Do you have the name of the gentleman she was dating? Le champ d'honneur, Pointe Claire is where servicemen are buried (not far from the cemetery I went to today). Many of the servicemen have loved ones buried with them. If your relative is buried with him, she will have a marker below his. I would be happy to follow up.
Conways I once had contact with you regarding a Conway request. I recently added 19 Conways to Saint Eugene Catholic Cemetery in Ontario. This is very near Montreal. Not sure if they may be related to you. Best regards Robert
Di Dia I notice that you mention in your bio that most of the memorial that you have done are family. What can you tell me about Isidoro Di Dia? I have been researching the Di Dia family all and most of the Di Dia and/or DiDia in the U.S. I have found my cousins by tracing my great grandfather and his brothers, and trace his brothers family. I have located them from Knoxville, Tenn to Sandusky, Ohio and San Diego, California. My grandfather and his brothers changed their last name from Di Dia to Dee to avoid discrimination. I am currently running a website called the didiaproject.com
Di Dia Hi there Ms. Burnette. I notice that you photographic a Isidoro Greco Di Dia F.A.G.#52679375. and I was wondering if you would be willing to go back out and photographic a close-up of the profile picture of this subject for me? Many thanks!
