I was born at Willamette Falls Hospital and for the first 12 years of my life my family lived in Carus, Oregon. We moved to Oak Grove, Oregon in 1982 and I have lived there ever since. I started doing Genealogy about 9 years ago. My 3 greatest interest are my family, doing my family research and my birds. My family came to Oregon in the 1850s and were in Oregon City and West Linn. My Great Great Grandfather was John Chambers and he helped build the Oregon City Locks and was Lock Master there for over 40 years. |

I live near Pilot Knob Cemetery in Kentucky. I saw you posted a request looking for the Stuart grave and somebody was unable to find it. I will go have a look as well since I responded to a request by somebody else. The stones are in real bad shape-many have broken off or fallen over. Somebody is mowing the grass, but that's about it. If I see the stone, I will photograph it for you. No promises though, but I will try. :)

Hi, I took a picture for you last summer however the stone had sunken in. I told you that I asked them to reset it. I was there today and it still hadn't been done so I went to the office and told them I had asked last year and it hadn't been done. Well, they walked out of the office and did it right then. I uploaded the new photo to his memorial for you. Hope all is well! Enjoy.
|Kathy Park||Re: ashes|
that is such a funny story.
If you hear the car is local, let me know - I'll go take pixs. :-)
I am hearing so many stories similar to this - who says death has to be sad.
Would you like to add the Reid memorial ? If so I'll go back and take a photo.
|Kathy Park||Jeanette Lee|
I put two pictures on her memorial page and as I was looking at them I realized something.
Between the two Lees there was a grave of someone named Reid. It wasn't a Jeanette though. I am wondering if she was buried as Reid. I didn't take a photo, but I will go back and see if there is a chance it might be her - even though her daughter said she was buried at his feet. I don't live far, so sometime in the next few days I'll go back and check. I'll let you know what I find. I found a similar instance at another grave yesterday. Name wasn't the same but the birth/death dates were.

I was able to find James' grave in Bremerton WA and have posted photos to his memorial page. Doing a little more research at the cemetery office we found that Jeanette is buried in the same plot with James but there is no headstone. I took photos of the area if you would like me to post them to her memorial page.

Any idea what section in the cemetery? There are 12,000 plus stones. If you can find out what section I could get the photo for you.

You're certainly welcome. Family is always an interesting story both to tell and to hear. Glad I could be of help.
|April Adeline Engler||Calvin Stuart|
I checked the Simpson County Cemetery reference book for Calvin while doing other research. In the Pilot Knob Cemetery records, there is no listing for Calvin. There is, however, a listing for Hoy G. Stuart "Son of C.R. and M.L. Stuart.". He lived from 3 Nov 1875 to 29 March 1879. There is neither a Stuart with the initials C.R. or M.L. in the cemetery. I don't know if they are his parents or not but thought you might be able to use the info. Pilot Knob Cemetery has very few unmarked graves. I checked the index for all Simpson County Cemeteries, as well as, the index for Logan County cemeteries (since PK Cemetery is right on the Logan/Simpson county lines) and there is not a Calvin Stuart listed for either county.
