I am 60 and have enjoyed genealogy research since I was a teenager and really became involved in the early 70's when I learned that my husband's great-grandfather had just "appeared" in north Louisiana. Back then it was not within my ability to find him. BUT computers have come along and now you can find almost anyone, from almost anywhere. In one evening I found the relative and traced him back another 100 years. That really hooked me! I have also been documenting cemetery headstones for years. Back in the "day" that might be the only record we could find of someone's life.
