Thank You for going out and taking this picture of his grave. My Mom is 83 years old and is unable to get around anymore so she can now go online and leave Flowers or Messages for him. God Bless you for all you Grave Hoppers do for the Veterans, their Families and Friends.
|Betty Venable Phillips||RE: Peoples|
Thanks for the additions. I did a quick search for Katie Cade/Duckett and this may help you. In the "Heritage of St. Clair County, Al.", Katie's son, Alvin Peoples, Jr. had a history of the Peoples' and he had Duckett. On Ancestry.com Family Trees, Katie was with parents, Elijah Duckett and Minnie Maybelle Glass of Dunnavant, (Leeds), Al. Not much info there. They are not easy to find!! On the 1930 Jeff. Co. census, Elijah is listed as Elijah Wickett (transcription error), wife Mabell and several children, one being Katie. I reviewed the original record and it appears to be Duckett. Hard to read. Elijah and Minnie Maybelle are buried at Dunnavant Community Cemetery; I did not find Cade within any of the names that I searched. I don't know how that came about, but if it is on the marker, then it must have some meaning. She is listed as Katie Lee and/or Kattie Lee Duckett on the marriage records. At any rate, I did not mean to "open a can of worms" and hope that I have not caused any undue work for you. Whatever you decide is okay with me...

Thank you for your message about finding a cousin from my information. From your information about that find I was also able to tie some cousins together. As always, thank you for your help with my distant cousins there in Alabama. We walked the Marion Cemetery two years ago and plan a return trip. I really like the area. Take care, Mike Lockett
|Star Rhodes||Lorena Parrott Rhodes|
Thanks so much for the info on Lorena. I would love to know more about her. I have tried to find her daughter to no avail. Some records show Brenda with the last name Rhodes, but it appears she was born after Williams death. My father-in-law could have a cousin he does not know. Please email me at email@example.com with any information you might have or any contacts I might make. It would be great to know her history especially when she was married to my husbands great grandfather. I got her birth state from census records. But I changed it to Alabama as you stated. Thanks so much for contact me.

Maybe he wrote his own obituary and had it published thinking his days were numbered. LOL. Nothing surprises me anymore. I've got letters my great grandmother wrote to the county she was born in asking for a copy of her birth certificate. She gave them two dates she thought might be her birthdate. How do you not know your own birthdate?
