Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am very interested in geneology, but most of our family is on the east coast. We would like to help others find their ancestors in central Illinois. My husband Wayne goes with me so we have an extra set of eyes. Feel free to use pictures on or wherever you like..that's why we do this :)
I will be happy to transfer any memorials that I have made in Illinois as they are not related to us. Please use the edit tab to do so. Please be patient, I don't always see them right away. Best wishes to all!!

If you have time, please visit my siblings and Mom and Dad. Thanks so much, Connie

RE: Georgiana
Georgiana Lucile Neat is my father's first cousin. She married Charles Warren Breeding. Their son, Larry Breeding, was an actor in Hollywood, seeing success in his career, when he was killed in a one-car auto accident when he was about 36. I'd be interested in anything you have... Mary :)

Virgie Irene Townsend
Hey, Connie!
You indirectly bring up a good point. The stone definitely says Irean, but the cemetery records say Irene. I do not know, at this point, which is right. If I find out more, I will adjust the memorial as needed. Mary :)

Virgie Irene Townsend
Well, I made a little progress. I found Virgie (a little girl) in the Winchester City Cemetery burial records, and I have the first initial of each of her parents. I also found that her middle name is Irene, not Irean, and I got the full date for her death. Now I just need to figure out who G. and N. are, and how / if they connect to my family.

TOWNSEND, Annette R. 1868 1950
TOWNSEND, Carrie M. 1874 1972
TOWNSEND, Charles H. - (Obit) 1870 1951

TOWNSEND, George 1871 1946
TOWNSEND, Robert L. - (Obit) 1862 1936
TOWNSEND, Sarah A. 1868 1924
TOWNSEND, Virgie Irene 11 Nov 1903 8 Oct 1904 Dau of G. & N. Townsend

RE: Let's try again...
Wow, Connie!
You have really "stumped the band" on this one. My Townsend grandparents were Charles and Carrie, and they had three girls, in 1893, 1895, and 1899, the middle of which was my grandmother Ethel. Charles had five siblings, but only two brothers who would have passed on the Townsend name. One of those, Robert, lived a long life but never married, and is buried under a stone with two of his also-unmarried sisters. The other brother, George, died in 1865 as an infant. The timing of the birth of this little boy, whose stone you found, could be a fourth child of Charles and Carrie, but I never heard of him. I don't know of other Townsends in Winchester, though, so it certainly is a possibility. I will gladly take this little one into my flock, if you don't mind, and I will try to find out how he is related. Amazing! Mary

Family headstones
Thank you so much! You found Hiram B Kelly, the Martins and the Hales. Such great documentation of these family members.

Ollie B. Neat Grave Photo
Thank you so much for making it to Winchester to photograph Ollie's grave. Ollie was my great-grandmother, and played a big part in raising my father, but she died before I was borne, so I never got to meet her. It is nice to get to see her grave. You two are sweethearts for being so kind.
