I have been retired since 2008 and recently started tracing the family roots. I love to do research on the Seals, Claiborne, and Leach, families and all their branches in upper East Tennessee, more specifically in Campbell and Claiborne Counties. I am also doing research on the Marcus, Payne, and Trenary families and all their branches in the Shenandoah Valley, including Clarke, Fauquier, and Loudoun counties.|

Thanks for the information. My ancestors came through Cross Creek, PA, and Logan County, Ohio.

Thanks for the correction for Franklin P. Marquis. I have a copy of the death certificate, and my database has the correct dates. I'm not sure how I missed the date on the Find A Grave memorial.
Have you found a connection between Marquis and Marcus?
|Dena||RE: Howards Quarter Cemetery|
I have been to the Cedar Flat cemetery, my great grandparents are buried there.We went through the pasture and through the barn yard where the cows were.
I have been to Howards Quarter Church ,but didn't go across to the cemetery. I hope to make a trip there after the foilage is gone and see if i can find out more. Thank you for your help.

Is this cemetery across from the Howards Quarter Baptist Church and also known as Pearson and maybe Barnard Pearson?

|BBowers||RE: Ida Mae Ratliff|
Yes, she was my grandmother and thanks for making the edits. She had twelve children by two husbands. Only one of her children is still living. One or two died in infancy. I hope to eventually learn where each was buried and link them to her on Find A Grave. I think all but one of her children died in Claiborne or Hamblen County. I really appreciate the efforts of contributors like you who help make it possible to learn more about our kin. -BBowers
