Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been retired since 2008 and recently started tracing the family roots. I love to do research on the Seals, Claiborne, and Leach, families and all their branches in upper East Tennessee, more specifically in Campbell and Claiborne Counties. I am also doing research on the Marcus, Payne, and Trenary families and all their branches in the Shenandoah Valley, including Clarke, Fauquier, and Loudoun counties.

Franklin P. Marquis
Thanks for the correction for Franklin P. Marquis. I have a copy of the death certificate, and my database has the correct dates. I'm not sure how I missed the date on the Find A Grave memorial.

Have you found a connection between Marquis and Marcus?

Thanks again.

RE: Ida Mae Ratliff
Yes, she was my grandmother and thanks for making the edits. She had twelve children by two husbands. Only one of her children is still living. One or two died in infancy. I hope to eventually learn where each was buried and link them to her on Find A Grave. I think all but one of her children died in Claiborne or Hamblen County. I really appreciate the efforts of contributors like you who help make it possible to learn more about our kin. -BBowers

I'm happy to do it.

RE: Mary Dulcenia Elizabeth McAfee Seals
Thanks. Know anyone searching will appreciate having as much info as possible. I really like researching. I don't do much cemetery work, just research and adding or updating info as I find stuff. Mostly work on McNiel (my husband's Clan) but need to get back to Young and Brown trees. We went to a Clan Gathering on the Isale of Barra, Scotland, 2 years ago and that really got my juices going on the McNeil's. I had a lot of info to get me going. Have Fun. Thanks.

Marcus Photo
Thank you so much for making the trip and getting a photo of James Marcus' stone.

This is our relative whose memorial was originally setup by another contributor and when I asked for an addition to be made, that contributor deleted the whole memorial plus many more.

Again, hugs from Carlisle, Pa!
