Bio

"A people which takes no pride in the noble achievements of remote ancestors will never achieve anything to be remembered, with pride, by remote descendants."
{Lord MacCaulay}
~~~~~~~~~~
I am a native daughter of Washington state; specifically Whidbey Island, Island County, WA
Our dad's family originated in The Netherlands; immigrated to the Dutch East Indies; back to The Netherlands & eventually to the United States in 1913.
Our mom's family originated in France and Britain & came to the United States on the Mayflower.
My interest in genealogy began as a child when I bugged my grandparents and parents for stories about the history of our families. I was lucky enough to have a grandfather who lived into his 90's and told fabulous stories of his adventures coming west in a covered wagon; arriving as an original settler via a canoe to Whidbey Island; serving in the Spanish American War; working as an engineer on the Panama Canal; being a police judge in the 1930's & a boat load of other tales of his life experiences.
I appreciate Find A Grave for their great contribution in helping millions preserve their families' heritage & records!
I currently reside in Orlando, FL with my husband & seven four-legged fur children. Two legged ones are all grown.
