Below is the original information he posted on his Find-A-Grave profile. The email address for this account has been changed to come to me, Dan Pierce, his distant cousin and genealogy cohort.

I want to dedicate these Pages to the memory of two persons: The first is my Grandfather Lorenzo Dowell Pierce (LD Pierce) who died in 1971 when I was a junior in high school. He was a great "old" man and quite a character, and remembered the times in Texas before automobiles. He was a "WINDMILL MAN" and worked on windmills and water wells all of his life. He lived with us in his old age, and I shared a room with him, and my parents J.L. and Juanita Pierce took care of him till he died. He climbed up on top of a windmill-to oil it-the day he passed away! The second person I want to dedicate this book to is my mother Juanita Faus Pierce. She passed away in August 1995 of cancer. She inspired me to write. She was a history nut and devoted a lot of time to hosting family reunions, and keeping track of her large family. She urged me to start looking into the Pierce genealogy as early as 1985 but I could not get interested. My search still has uncovered much info about the Pierce Family as presented in my book and these web pages.

SPECIAL THANKS to Eddie Force Rhea Kuykendall Dan Pierce and Dorman Thomas. for all their genealogy help and in making this data possible. If I had not found them and their prior research on the Internet, I probably would not have continued this project. Finding this data meant there was more to my family history than I knew. They encouraged me to continue my research.
