Flower for my dad
Thank you for the flower and comments you left for my dad, and for me. They both mean quite a bit to us.

George Ernest Boelter
Hello. I came across your posting about the family of George Ernest Boelter and how that is your Boelter line. This is also my Boelter line. George is my great grand uncle. His father, Ernest Boelter, is my 2x great grandfather. I was hoping to swap information, stories, and any picture you have on your Boelter line. I have been researching my Boelter line for about 2 years now and would love to swap information. Please send me a message or email me. My email is in my profile page. Thanks!

RE: John Coltran
I know that John was in farming. My grandpa said that his parents sent him to John's farm as John was bedridden and sick and wanted my grandpa to help him with his crops. However, my grandpa was too young at the time to handle a team of horses so he wasn't able. He just remembers John lying in his bed.

Coltran Family
I looked at the Historical Society for the Coltran name and we had nothing. We continue to look through old newspapers so something may turn up yet. I will keep my eyes open for this name.

RE: John Coltran
I asked my grandfather again about him and he does not know where he was from but he was married to Wilhelmina/Minnie. They had no children together. It appears that Minnie died 20 years after John and that she was buried near her family (Schumann's). That could be why there are two headstones. Gregory/Fairfax/Butte are all geographically close together. My grandfather grew up in the Butte area. Minnie and John got married 7/11/34 per the marriage certificate. The 1935 census states he was born in Nebraska?

Sorry I can't be of more help. That is all I know.

RE: Josiah Hopkins
Dear IMOG, I agree with your concerns over the multiple titles and the confusion that could result from them. I will trust your judgment as how to best manage his memorial.

RE: Josiah Hopkins
Hello IMOG, in answer to your question, he is listed as a captain in a Connecticut death record that I attached to his profile. It may very well be as you've suggested, being that he was a sea captain, rather than a military captain. He is my 4th cousin, 6X removed. Here is the record;

You have attached this record to:

Polly & Betsey Thayer
Thank you so much for the link and additional information regarding Betsey (your ancestor) and her sister Polly (my ancestor). I did not have any of this information, so it is a real find! I ordered a copy of this book to add to my library.

The book indicated Polly married Amasa Taylor, however his name was actually Amasa Turner. Their oldest son, Lewis, was my great-great-grandfather.

From this and the information in your email, we are 5th cousins 1x removed - I am so glad to meet you! My brother married a Cannon, so I will be researching this angle also. It is exciting to have more information that I have time to research.

Happy hunting, and thank you again!
