Bio

Please call me Scott.
Born in 1949.
Home is Riverside, CA.

I have been working on family history since 1995. I have other hobbies and interests that come and go. But researching and compiling family history has been to me a compelling and constant interest. I have found "Find A Grave" to be so very important to my work. Participating in it regularly is something that I need to do. I do this not only as a researcher but as a contributor.
My contributions, for the moment, are limited to individuals in whom I have a direct interest. I have included direct line family members, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. A number of those that I manage have been transferred to me by other contributors. And I thank them for that. I understand that in the future there may be those who have a more direct family line to a memorial that I manage. I will be happy to transfer management to responsible "Find A Grave" participants.
I must speak about our responsibility to accuracy in contributing to this data base. Researchers in every field are in a constant battle to maintain the integrity of their data. Even though we are mostly amateurs here, we must think and participate as professionals. The validity of this data for now and for the future demands a professional diligence to accuracy. "Find A Grave" is not a game. It is not a toy. The souls of our dead ancestors do not depend upon a listing in this data set. How overpowering a conflict of interest is that? If you wish to view a data set for which the credibility score approaches zero, go to the "LDS Pedigree Resource File".
This is "Find A Grave", not "Wish There Was A Grave". There are very good reasons why there might not be a grave (KIA, MIA, BAS, cremated remains with family, and others). For the benefit of all, these memorials should be placed here. But if you are entering memorials in circumstances where there is no grave or no unbiased, valid and vettable documentation, you are compromising the value of this data base. Please reconsider. And also, you don't want to know my opinion of listing pets here.

To the success and value of "Find A Grave".
