I'm The Old Chief. That's because I'm relatively old and am a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. I got into working with FindAGrave to enhance my work on our family tree through Ancestry.com and as a way to get out of the house and get some exercise. Although my residence is in central Oklahoma I travel throughout this great country in my RV so you may see memorial and photo entries from various states.
I'm specifically interested in the names Stone, Weed, Davis, Jones, Berry as it pertains to our family in Oklahoma.
Also my wife's family: Hill, Rogers and Phillips.
TRANSFER REQUEST: If you see someone that is a member of your family and want that memorial changed to your account just ask. If I am not also related I will consider your request. (For transfer request that are outside the FAG guidelines I consider them on a case by case basis. If your profile shows you have MANY more memorials that you "manage" than you have actually done the work to add yourself then your out of guidelines request will probably be denied.)
When requesting a transfer please give your FAG contributor number AND how are you related to the individual. Please use the EDIT tab on the individual memorial page to request transfers. Also, permission is hereby granted to copy and reuse pictures of any grave marker that I have taken and posted on this site as long as they ARE NOT posted to a for profit site such as Ancestry.com.
Transfer Request Hello! I was hoping I could get John Irwin French and Mary Ann Gallatin French transferred to my account? I am their granddaughter (mentioned in their obits as Kari French (maiden name).
#93519363 & #93513171 #93513171: James Arthur Tompkins and his wife #93519363: Eunice Irene Witty- I have contacted their daughter Geraldine Tompkins Clifton and she is not interested in managing their pages at this time. They are my great uncle and wife. Mancye A. Tompkins was my mother's (Rose Marie Tompkins Smith) father. You will find a new memorial for my mom on Find A Grave as well. I have more transferred to me than I have created because I am a new member and don't have a camera to take photos of the graves and, consequently, must rely on relatives to supply photos. If you look , you'll see I have created 3 new memorials recently. Thanks do much for your cooperation! Mike
RE: Leiber-Narup I suspect the Bruns memorial is a cenotaph. Note there is no death date inscribed on the headstone, while there is on yours. Still, where duplicates are concerned, Find A Grave rules give precedence to the earlier memorial, which, in this case, favors Bruns.
My suggestion: alert firstname.lastname@example.org to this situation and let them sort it out. In any event, you should resolve this matter to prevent confusion. I discovered the duplicate while adding a link to this family.
