I'm The Old Chief. That's because I'm relatively old and am a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. I got into working with FindAGrave to enhance my work on our family tree through Ancestry.com and as a way to get out of the house and get some exercise. Although my residence is in central Oklahoma I travel throughout this great country in my RV so you may see memorial and photo entries from various states. |
I'm specifically interested in the names Stone, Weed, Davis, Jones, Berry as it pertains to our family in Oklahoma.
Also my wife's family: Hill, Rogers and Phillips.
TRANSFER REQUEST: If you see someone that is a member of your family and want that memorial changed to your account just ask. If I am not also related I will consider your request. (For transfer request that are outside the FAG guidelines I consider them on a case by case basis. If your profile shows you have MANY more memorials that you "manage" than you have actually done the work to add yourself then your out of guidelines request will probably be denied.)
When requesting a transfer please give your FAG contributor number AND how are you related to the individual. Please use the EDIT tab on the individual memorial page to request transfers. Also, permission is hereby granted to copy and reuse pictures of any grave marker that I have taken and posted on this site as long as they ARE NOT posted to a for profit site such as Ancestry.com.

Thank you for your consideration!

No, I'm a Spicher (maiden name) & I grew up in NM. My mother is the Oakie (Higgins from Wynnewood). The headstones I inquired are my mother's grandfather's family (John Russell HIggins).
Hope you are doing well.

The work you have done for so many is remarkable! Thank you for adding the memorial for my beloved mother-in-law.
Could you please transfer her memorial to me?
I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you for working the Solway Cemetery! It is people like you that help all us researchers

1st, thanks for all the hard work you do so families can find their ancestors & some of the info connected to them. "You done good!"
2nd, I have 6 family members buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in OK City & have been trying to find their info on Find a Grave (Find A Grave).
I know one of them does not have a headstone. Do you know if Chapel Hill uses any other type marker if there is no headstone?
2 others are buried there but I find no listing for them at all (in Find A Grave). These 3 are buried in the same family plot.
Do Find A Grave volunteers search for info in the cemetery burial records, or should I contact the Funeral Home for that?
Thanks for your assistance, & thanks again for all your hard work. It sounds very interesting & rewarding.

Thanks Old Chief for all your hard work at Solway Cemetery.
John M Johnson 1873 - 1947 is my g-grandfather. You posted several siblings which is new information to me. Where did you find this information? Do you have a family connection?
His wife Lisa Johnson 1883- 1945 is my g-grandmother. They both passed long before i was born in the area. I would be glad to manage this as I can add the children of John and Lisa.

Thank you very much for the updates and helping to better link these families.

I would like to know who gave you the right to put my mom on your photo,I or any of my family said you could.
|Janet LaMotte||RE: Elsa Sviestins|
Just need the dates updated. I'm wondering about the other person on her gravestone. Ethel Berenda was a social worker with a Masters of Social Work from OU. She died 10 years before Elsa.
