I was born in Nebraska and grew up on the farm-ranch that my mother's father Charlie Brackman homesteaded when he was 21,in 1887. For the past 40 years I've lived in Colorado. My maternal grandmother, Alice Minna, was born on the Holthusen ranch in Park County, Colorado Territory, in 1875, a year before Colorado became a state. After breaking through what had seemed unsurmountable brick walls on both sides of my family, I've immensely enjoyed helping others trace their ancestors.
