Bio

My husband and I live in northern Indiana. I started researching our genealogy in 1999 with my husband's family and then started adding mine. In a short time I was able to find a lot of ancestors. My favorite past time is to walk a cemetery. I feel it is so important to let our children and grandchildren know where they came from and the hardships their ancestors endured. I only add people I know are related to our families and I will transfer some memorials if they are directly related to that person. I have found that there are some members of findagrave.com that add the local obituaries to their memorials before the person has even had their funeral and I think that is wrong. I firmly believe that the family needs time, at least two months or longer, to think about it. I am not sure how many people know about findagrave.com and may not be aware that their famly member, obituary and picture include, is added to the memorials. If someone wants to add it after that I guess they can, but they must also be willing to transfer it to a direct famly member. I do own a copy of the St. Joseph County, Indiana Cemetery Inscriptions, Vols. 1-5, and will share that information if requested for a specific person who was buried in St. Joseph County, Indiana.
