Samuels - Bayside Cemetery
Thanks again Anthony for the volunteering the latest batch of grave transfers. An unexpected surprise. Thanks also for sending through the photo Gate 6. I was going to ask about that, as it would make a fitting Cemetery photo for the, so far, 16 Samuels burials that I have located there. If you upload it as a Bayside Cemetery photo, you'll get credit on each monument where the photo is displayed.

RE: More in gate 6 and 87
Many thanks again for your efforts Anthony. Very helpful information. Have submitted the edits to connect the monuments of Abraham, Anna and Rachel.

RE: Bayside
Many thanks for those transfers Anthony, very generous of you.

Have now managed to ascertain several family groups and connect the memorials.

Would be very helpful to learn which Samuels are in the gated enclosure with George, Solomon et al and those who are elsewhere.

Does a Bayside have a map of their (Gate 6) enclosure or would that need to be done by hand?

At this stage, it looks as though George and Solomon may well be brothers.

RE: Bayside
Very kind of you. Yes please do, a lot of new information so probably easier if I manage them. Have just discovered another Samuels at Bayside. Samuel Samuels, d.1884 age 5, son of George and Frieda, no plot details on JOWBR but likely in the Samuels enclosure?

Many thanks indeed

Frieda Samuels, Bayside Cemetery
Confirmed Frieda Samuels death/burial record on JewishGen.

Bayside Cemetery.

Plot location: Chebra Bnai Zedek (Gate 6)

Same location they record for George Samuels.

Have also submitted a photo request for the grave.

Thanks again

RE: Samuels of Bayside

2 more brothers:

Louis Samuels and Samuel Samuels - both likely born mid 1870s and both mentioned in the Dec 1917 NY Times death notice of their sister, Pauline Samuels Franklin (buried in Washington Cemetery, already photographed)

Possibly a Frieda Samuels (their mother) 1840 approx - 6 Feb 1885 (d.Manhattan)

Many thanks

Samuels of Bayside
Many thanks again for taking the time to photograph the entire Samuels group. I am now in contact with another person researching this family and it looks like between us, we may be able to connect most of the remaining dots.

Best wishes

RE: Issac Harris at Bayside
I found him in the Jewish online records. :). Do you know if he was a co owner with Max Blanck with triangle shirtwaist company. I'm hoping someone fulfills my request so I can see his birthdate.

RE: Issac Harris at Bayside
I was reading a book about the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire in New York City. It peaked my interest and I did some research on the owners of the company. The owners were listed as Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. I'm trying to figure out if this is Isaac Harris, co-owner of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. The dates fit, I think.

Read a book about the fire and did some research. There's no malice with the memorial.
