Bio

I have been working on my genealogy since around 1988. I live in Missouri and try to photograph as many headstones of my family (and others) when I can. My family names are: Lowe, Gore, Shafer, Bozarth, Borden, Alexander, Reed, McPhetridge, Salsbury, Russell, Potter, White, Cronkhite, Hargis, Bradley, Baker, McCully, McCulloch, Moyer, Farris, McSpadden, Rice, Polson, Sims, Wall, Stevens, Cox, Wine, Wade, Mustain, Shelton, Ellis, and others. Findagrave is a wonderful tool for those of us who care about where we came from, and for sharing our family stories with others. If I manage a memorial for someone I'm not directly descended from, I will transfer management to a direct descendant no matter how many generations back you go. I firmly believe that all memorials should be cared for by a family member, not a stranger. It may appear by my numbers that I do not do "the work" on FindAGrave. I spend hours and hours researching the people I find records on or stories about in old newspapers. Then I link them to their ancestors and children. Sometimes one family can take a day or two to find out where they all are.
