I have always been fascinated with cemeteries. Even as a young child I loved playing in them. My mother taught all of her children that a cemetery was not a place to be feared. She also taught us that above all a cemetery MUST be treated with respect. I would take my own children to play in cemeteries when they were young and I passed on the same lessons my mother gave me. My children are grown now, but they still enjoy going to cemeteries to look around and soak up the history. I have 4 grandchildren ages, 12, 8, 19 months and 5 months. We have already began teaching the 12 and 8 year old. I can hardly wait until the little ones are old enough to go with granma and learn to do etchings!!
