Bio Photo Find A Grave memorials should be viewed as works in progress. I gladly add to memorials.

If you need information on Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Smith Road, Southside, Etowah Co., AL, please contact me. I have records of all known burials there and cemetery records dating back to 1960. I have viewed most of the obituaries and added tidbits of information from them to the memorial bio. A second edition to the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery book is now in progress.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. My photos are not always good; due to the time of day of photo, old, old markers in poor condition which need cleaning, etc., but they are worth a view to someone searching for an ancestor. The only time I add an "overview" photo to someone else memorial is to show location which is a great help in finding a marker in a large area and/or to add data on the photo caption. If you wish for photos to be deleted, please let me know. Bad, good or better photos are yours if you want to use them on your records. While not necessary, credit is always appreciated if you use the photos. Just show Find A Grave and memorial number - no need to show my name. If you wish for a better photo and the cemetery is close by, I will retake a photograph. Excluding my own kin and a few special people, my memorials are up for grabs if you are related and request a transfer.
Obituaries are published in newspapers for all the world to read! Some obituaries are online, so millions of folks can read them. Often that information assists genealogist in making family ties and especially if there were infants listed. Each volunteer compiles memorials differently. Sometimes I add a portion of an obituary, sometimes more. Just be thankful you found something that might enhance your research. Remember we are volunteers! THANKS TO ALL who add to Find A Grave. This is a great big 'ole wonderful website!!!

RE: Helen Longinotti Thomson
Thank you so much for the transfers. Again I really appreciate all your time and hard work putting together the memorials and taking the pictures. It is so nice to be able to find out where this aunt of mine and her husband were buried and to see their headstones. I live in Michigan, so it would be about impossible to see them and you have helped me to put a final touch to their lives. Again I can't say thank you enough for this as I have been looking for them for many years. My parents and sisters last saw them alive in about 1958 (before I was born) and my sister will be glad to know there is some kind of closure to this for them. She wrote to Aunt Helen for many years, so she felt that she knew her, my dad was also very close to her and actually spent a whole summer with them as a kid. So please know that your hard work means so much to me and my family.
Thanks again,
Joy Gantt Engel

Helen Longinotti Thomson
I see that you have made a memorial for my great great aunt Helen Louise Longinotti Thomson and her husband Eugene Eaton Thomson. Are you related to Eugene? Helen was the younger sister of my great grandmother Anna Augusta Longinott McDonald. I would love to hear from you.
Thank you for making these memorials for both of them. It helped me to find them and I have been searching for when and where they died for many, many years.

Thank you again,
Joy Gantt Engel
