I have been interested in genealogy my whole life. I was adopted as an infant, and have researched my adoptive family as well as my biological family. Whenever I visit a cemetery to photograph monuments, I try as often as I am able to leave the monument looking better than when I first saw it. I water any plants that need a drink, sweep off any debris that is on the stone, and often will wash any stains left behind by birds. My feeling is that if the family were around, they would do the same. Since I have volunteered to assist distant family, I feel a duty to assist.
