Bio

I am a former elementary school teacher, and writer-published in children's magazines such as Highlights For Children, and woman's magazines.
While it is wonderful to record all the headstone dates and locations, it is even more amazing to discover their stories. Each headstones is a marker in a storybook about a special person, and their family.

My sponsorships are in honor of my Aunt Doll (Valere Carey) who always made sure all the graves had flowers. She would have loved Find-A-Grave.

Read all the FAQ-Frequently Asked Questions. The only dumb question is the one you were too hesitant to ask. If you have an edit or correction, please include your sources. Your name may be included as a source of the information you provide. And please be kind. Remember all of us are hard working volunteers just like you. Many, many thanks to all who are recording these gravesites so that ancestors will never be forgotten. You are treasures.

***Many of my memorials were transcribed from the Old Sacramento City Cemetery Burial Index. You may find additional information on individual graves by consulting their burial index including specific reinterment, deeding, and plot locations including page, lot, and tier. --http://oldcitycemetery.com/BurialIndex.htmhttp://oldcitycemetery.com/images/Map/CemeteryMap.pdfDo check out the new Find A Grave App which will allow batch addition of photos and automatic GPS information-- much easier to use than traditional plot numbers, https://www.facebook.com/groups/534942869983407/ Please ask before using my photos or text.
