I have been doing genealogy for about 22 years, I have accumulated many records from Warren County at the Court House, Library and the Historical Society. This latest venture of taking photos at the cemetery is to help anyone that may be looking for a relative that may be buried in Warren County. I have several branches of my family that I have added also. If I have entered any of your relatives and you want to take ownership feel free to message me, I would be happy to be of help.

Names I am researching: Fehlman, Schuler, Pastor, Gutzler, Musante, Mangini, Crawford, Kofford, Wenzel, Lauffer, Keil, Hansen, Knudsen, Duncan, Shand, Baker, Becker, Beck and many others that are very common names like Smith and Thomas.

I have been out in the cemeteries for over 3 years and have taken a lot of photos, I do not mind transferring if you have also worked hard on this project. I get requests to transfer memorials and usually do even if the person is not on your direct line. That being said, I get lots of requests from people that have added some names and photos but are managing hundreds and hundreds more than they entered or went out and took photos of, if they are not directly related in those cases I do not transfer, if you want information added send it to me and I will add.

PLEASE ALL ADDITIONS AND CHANGES THAT CAN BE MADE USING THE EDIT TAB PLEASE USE IT AND NOT BY SENDING A MESSAGE. IF IT IS INFORMATION FOR BIO I WILL BE HAPPY TO ADD BUT IT IS SO MUCH EASIER FOR ME IF YOU USE THE "EDIT" TAB.

I do not mind doing transfers especially when it falls into the guidelines of this site however many times I am asked to transfer relatives that are not direct. I will do transfers when they are not direct but I go to your profile first, many times I see that the individual requesting the transfer has only entered a few memorials and very few photos, I worked hard to get photos and expect anyone requesting transfers will work as hard too to make this site a success so I do not transfer if the person requesting has not worked hard also. I am managing many more than I entered because I have a friend that passed away and hers were transferred to me to manage.

Boras
Hi. I am sorry to not have used the edit feature but I thought this might need an explanation. You have added Ialoff Boras. This is my 2nd g grandmother. A paid researcher has been hunting for her. She started working with the husbands info when she could not find her. So Fredrick Boras is buried with his wife and her name was Olive. We are assuming he spoke her name in accented English which turned into ALOFF. The researcher examined the headstone closely and said what appears to be an I was actually the edge of the cutout for the lettering Also the section card reads Aloff .So that leaves ALOFF. So the person you have here is Olive Ann Rasey b. 1845 in Ohio. The thing that verifies this weird story is that her mother is buried in the same plot. Thanks. Sue

Flora (Learn) Mack
More evidence:

From Pine Grove Cemetery Burial Ledger (copy w/me) from former caretaker, Mr. Roberts).
“Randall Plot 1...Sec B...Lot 41. 12/3?/38. Thomas S Mack, age 89, Undertaker Schnoover. {Buried in} wood box.
(same lot 41, next line) 2/25/38. Flora Mack, 84, Undertaker Schnoover. {Buried in} wood box.”

Also:
From a 2003 Boy Scout Transcription-Pine Grove Cem-Warren-PA -copy w/me)
“Mack, Laura (Learn), d. Feb 22, 1938” {”Laura” presumed error for “Flora” {her sister Laura (Learn) Blackmer was alive in 1940

Flora E (Sankey) Mack?
Note that Flora E & Thomas Mack have the same style gravestones in the Pine Grove Cemetery implying a relationship. Census records indicate they were married.

I'm skeptical that Flora Sankey, of Huntingdon Co, PA in 1860 census and Buffalo Co, WI in 1870, m. Thomas Mack of Pine Grove-Warren-PA (about 1873 per censuses of 1900-1930 Kiantone-Chautauqua-NY). i find no connection & the locations don't overlap.

It's probable that he married Flora E Learn. They were on p 13 & p 18 of the 1870 census for Pine Grove-Warren-PA. I can't find convincing proof of this, but a note on page 9 in the Warren, PA Tribune of 26 June 1928 about the Learn Family Reunion has "Relatives were present...from Kiantone...Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mack...of Kiantone, NY." This suggests that Mrs. Thomas {Flora} Mack was related to the Learn family.

Gravestone Photo Permission
Resending my 2/2/2015 message:

I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Henry Alvord in Oak Hill Cemetery (Memorial# 80570685).

I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of Pennsylvania Obituaries, where his obituary will be included. You can see the current collection at http://www.alfordassociation.org/OBITS/PAOBIT.htm.

May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:

Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—www.findagrave.com
Permission granted by the photographer, Mare [or your full name if you prefer]

And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Best regards,

RE: rachel butler butter button
Don't have Ancestry just now. This is from the cemetery records:
BUTTON Lot 279
Rachel Bush d. 11/7/1861 ae 21 w/o Nelson Button - but it just doesn't look like Button to me.

I still don't know. You always hope for family to show up and straighten it out. Guess we need to find Nelson

#101560272 Name on stone looks like it is spelled Ancelia E., daughter of John. I found this: Warren Mail newspaper, 7 DEC 1861-marriage of Reuben Davis and Miss E. Huffman. I believe her maiden name was Angela Elizabeth Huffman. She was Angela on 1880 and 1900 Warren, PA census, Elizabeth on the 1870. Davis family information has her husband's middle name as Bates, not Blakeslee, since one of Reuben Davis' brothers, Cyrus Davis, had the middle name of Blakeslee, perhaps family lore is correct as to Bates. Family information also has the name of Angela's parents as John W. Huffman and Nancy M. Felton.
