Levin Layfield
Your very complete record on Levin Layfield and his service is much appreciated. My grandfather, Henry J. Ruffin, was in Hilliard's, but Co. D. I'd not known of this connection before. Henry J. Ruffin married Winnie Virginia Jinks (d/o Nicey and Willis) Nicey's sister was Mary Winney Martin who married George Layfield, who I believe was Levin's older brother. The Layfields, Herricks, Martins, Jinks, and Ruffins have so many interconnections in Taylor Co GA. I'm working today on all of those families and their CSA service.

William Forshee
Abigail Vining Forshee
Hi Blythe,

My name is William Forshee, Abigail was my gggrandmother, her son Elisha, Jr. was my ggrandfather. From my father's recollection we know her as Abigail Lavinne Hodge Forshee. It has to be the same lady. My father said she was born in 1828 and died in 1950, so the dates are close. I'm looking to find her father-in-law. I think it was John Forshee of Houston County, Ga and later perhaps Macon County, Ga.? Do you have anything further?

Henry Rayford Adams
Hi Blythe, Uncle Rayford was my great uncle, I have added his Mother, Annabelle Garrett Adams and his sister, Lucille Adams Lee to the Bloodworth Cemetery if you want to link them to your/our Uncle. Lucille was my grandmother, so I believe we are probably step-cousins. I have been working on a narrative of our family history for almost 20 years, if you have any stories or info you like to share I would be very grateful. -Kay Roof

Know Wallace would be honored to know that you included his article.

He wouldn't believe how much technology has change our every day life. He no doubt would have a computer and including a cell phone.

Have no idea what's going on with my email. You are the first one to bring this up.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Contributed "two photos" of him to F.A.G., assuming you are referring to the one as an "adult." It was my Dad (dec'd.) who found the photo and believe it appeared in the book, "Fulton County Sketches ~ Memoirs of Georgia (pp. 903-904). He was the "nephew" of my gr gm Orvilla (Rogers) Hape (m. Dr. Samuel Hape), Atlanta and Hapeville, GA. Would be interested in getting the article you had mentioned, "Christmas Shopping in the Confederacy, 1901."

Greens at Providence Methodist
If you have not visited Providence's page in the last several days please do so. There are a number of Greens buried close to Ira's grave to include his Mother. I took pictures of those Greens and made memorials. If you need those photos please use them as you wish.
