RE: Charity Booth Knight
Thank you so much, the link worked and I was able to find more obituaries than I expected.

Charity Booth Knight
Hi L. B.,

You recently added a memorial to Downs Cemetery and I was wondering if you had a copy of the obituary that is listed for Charity? I am wondering if she may be related to the other Booth's interred in Downs Cemetery.

Fraud detection
I know that if it came from my email the way to fix it would be to put my email in their contacts. I wonder if you put the no-reply from Find A Grave if that would work? Try emailing me privately and we will see how that works.

RE: Cora Carpenter
I failed the fraud detection? If so, do you know how I would go about fixing that?

Hello! It is for memorial #112947937. I think that something is being updated with Find A Grave because edits are coming in slowly but I do have four edit requests for her to be linked. So strange!

Cora is already linked to husband. This is the fourth time I have had this request. Does it not show up on your side?

RE: Carrie Crutchfield
Thanks for adding the link. She is an ancestor of a friend, no connection to me. Thanks for the offer.

I did not get that information myself, I inherited the memorial from an inactive contributor.

You can always request a picture of the gravestone and hopefully a volunteer in that area can help you out.

1900 census records are unreliable as a source. Depends on how honest individual was and how good the census taker was. So correct varies from area to area, person to person. I never use this as an absolute source. (experience 7 trees, One has 20,000+ listed, rest abt 5,000 each)

I've known the Death index to be off, but not by much. Under stress of death, people tend to supply close but wrong info. And depends on the person supplying the info.

Markers have been wrong, usually if placed long after death. Markers are usually the most reliable source. Adage: It is set in stone.

The closer to the event that you are dating the more reliable the info. Censuses close to birth tend to be more accurate than later. Death index is more correct to death date, although I've run into and error or two with this also (poor paperwork?).

There is no absolute perfect source, just better.
