Bio

I was born in 1949 in Washington, D.C.,to Enos (Rex) Bellamy and Louise (Munaretto). Later my mother divorced and married Don Brokhausen, we lived in D.C.; Hope,ND; and Glenwood,MN, where I graduated from high school. After attending Moorhead State University, I taught high school English for 35 years (in Brandon, Elbow Lake, and Barrett, MN). I also received my masters from NDSU and was an adjunct professor at UM Morris. My husband(of over 40 years)Doug Alvstad and I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. We are both retired teachers. We are both history buffs and love to tour historical sites including cemeteries. We are active members of the Zionsborg Cemetery Association. I also like to participate in all aspects of theatre and have tried my hand at quilting.
