Please let me know if you'd like me to transfer your family member's memorial to you. |
Right now I am uploading images from a local cemetery, so I may take some time returning to you.
Also, after discussions on Genforum about the errors on this site I am always very conscious of mistakes and incorrect information here. I encourage anyone who sees a mistake I made to let me know. I also encourage other contributers before adding graves to make certain that the information they add is correct. Often I find memorials have been created before the graves have been visited. If this is the case, please provide source information and realize that even then the source may have been wrong to begin with. Headstones can also be incorrect from time to time, so be conscious of this.

Nicole, I have been unsuccessful in sending you an E-mail. Is the address on Find A Grave correct? Sincerely, Wesley Martin

If you are from the area, and ever in the cemetery, maybe you could check for his wife Anna, or father Milton Mcghee, he also had a brother named Meridth, their mother was Mary E (Lizzie) Wise Stanton McGhee

Hi, The information that I have as to dates came from the Rutherford County Cemetery book. I have been to this cemetery but only took photos of the stones that I was able to read.
|Roots of Mine||James Fain|
According to the cemetery records, the only James Fain at Oak Woods is buried at the Confederate Mound. The Mound is a mass grave for several hundred civil war soldiers who were killed during the war. Most of them were POW's. Although you list the date of death as 1863, the cemetery did not receive this Fain's body until 1867 for burial. It is possible that they are one in the same (even though that seems like a long time to hold a body). Is it possible that your date of death is incorrect? Or maybe he was moved from another grave site to this one. Either way if you would like me to take the photo I will get it to you by early next week. I'm a veteran myself so I have much appreciation for our soldiers.
