My family are mostly from Monroe County, Ohio. I spent lots of time there as a child on my grandparents farm on Grizzle Ridge Road. I have lots of information and old photos from that area I'm anxious to add to this site.|
Names I'm currently researching are mostly my family's and include Decker, Clark, Workman, Griffith, Brown, Schenk, Freitag (Friday) Murphy, Fisher, Young, McMahon, Turner, Ullman, Mellott and Ott.
Please take a minute to look through my virtual cemetery, "Grandma's Album." ==>
These are photos of friends and relatives I have not yet identified. Maybe you will recognize someone and be able to help me identify them. Maybe they are a relative of yours?
For me, this is about doing something good for my family members and yours, too! It's not about keeping score, taking credit for something or seeing how many memorials I can build. It's exiting to research and locate family members that I never knew about. If I can help you find yours in the Ohio area please let me know, I'd be happy to help.

As I have just recently been forced to retire due to health reasons I am looking into the family tree. I have found Ephraim Decker was my grandfather which makes Israel Decker my great grandfather, then back to Jacob. So was wondering how far back and if we are cousins, or what. You may either message me here or my email address which is email@example.com

Could I please ask to have the cemetery put on her memorial? The genealogy society has her listed in Harmony Cemetery, but findagrave has it as Harmon Cemetery. Elizabeth has a headstone with this inscription:
Griffith, J. d/o Joseph & Delilah FOREMAN no dates.
Delilah is a mistake, it may have been hard to read, her mother's name is Juliana.
I created a new memorial for Joseph in Harmon cemetery and added more information including an obituary. Could you please delete the other one you created for him? I was hoping for more information and the information about the cemetery.
Joseph is buried there, and has a headstone. I also added other family members. I assume Elizabeth's middle initial is J.

I am working on Lois OLDS Hatch, 1851 - 1935, buried in Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, Yolo County, CA. You have entered information on her and her family on FindAGrave
Your information shows that one of her husband's sons, Howard Mark Hatch, was only a half-brother to the other two.
This is not consistent with the marriage and birth dates I have nor with with the 1900 and 1910 census entries.
Can you tell me why you went to the trouble to make him a half-sibling on your FindAGrave posts of this family?

She has a findagrave memorial where she is buried in Brown County Indiana.
number is #109546434
Juliana also has a son buried there with a memorial, Elizabeth's brother.
It looks like something was created for her
father Joseph, thank you.

Thanks, I'll try. lol

I have a date calculator built in my Family Tree Program is how I got his birth date. The tombstone says he was 44yrs 5ms 16ds when he died. Also I have linked him with his parents whose name is spelled Keithley with an e. Someplace along the line the name has gotten spelled without the e, but it is the same family. I have found this with several other families. Makes it very confusing when linking up family members.
Hi Mr Decker, I sent an edit to link Phillip to his parents. The memorial is Riedelbaugh vs his parents Riedelbauch. I don't know if the cemtery listing mis transcribed the name for if Phiilip altered the original version. But I am certian of his parents and I hope you will link them. Thanks for creating the memorials and allowing me to find him!
All the best, Debra

I have information about where Elizabeth is buried. Do you need to see the document? I could scan it and email it. In the 1980s a person looked up land records for our family history book. Someone walked the cemetery and wrote what they saw. I have four buried there. The information is minimal on the stones. It was published in The Navigator by the Monroe County Genealogical Society vol 1 no 3 December 1988 I don't have an email address to send it to.
I wanted to ask if you could create memorials for the others in that cemetery in my family.
For her it says :GRIFFITH, J d/o Joseph & Delilah FOREMAN - no dates.
Delilah is incorrect, her mother was Juliana.
Thank you for posting the information about Jackson, and Elizabeth and their daughters. We didn't have dates on the girls and it is nice to have a birth date. I guess the dates came from a family Bible. Ours was lost.
The other family members are
FOREMAN Elizabeth d 23 Apr 1841 age 23 y 7 mo
[wife of Joseph Foreman Jr, maiden name was Orn]
FOREMAN, John S. s/o J&J d 12 Jul 1859 age 1-5-12
[parents Joseph Foreman Jr, Jane Orn Foreman]
FOREMAN Joseph Sr d 13 May 1853 age 66 yr
The publication calls it HARMONY CEMETERY
Tom, are you sure Israel Hamilton is buried at the Monroefield cemetery. I just took pictures of most all the stones and found no Hamilton. Not or else there is no stone. Most of my distant relatives are buried there. I was born and raised at Monroefield, which is no longer a town.
Thank you for creating the memorials for the Dinzler and Schluer families in the Woodland CA cemetery. Would you please transfer maintenance of Annie Dinzler Schluer to me? She is my wife's aunt. All the other Dinzler and Schluer memorials in the Woodland cemetery are my wife's cousins, if you would like to make a bulk transfer we will add all of the bios and family links. If there are any you want to manage let me know, and I will send in link suggestions.
I see in your bio that you are interested in families in Ohio, how is it that you created memorials in an out of the way place like Woodland?
Also, I have some McMahon cousins in NC. (they pronounce it Mac Ma Han) I don't have anyone in the family researching that branch right now. Are your McMahons from NC?
Thanks again for creating the memorials.
