Bio

I have been doing geneaology for over 35 years, but I wish that I had started asking questions much, much earlier. My Grandpa Chesser delighted in telling stories about his childhood and I loved to listen to him. Unfortunately, I never took the time to write them down. Grandma Chesser told us stories about her parents too, and sang a song to us. Thank God, I did remember the words and tune to the song to hand down to my children and grandchildren.
After my Mom and Dad had passed away, I missed seeing my extended family and decided to dig a little deeper and fill in the gaps. By the year 2000, I had pestered my Mom's family enough to get information together and put it all together in the form of a book. I published enough copies for our family and we had a family reunion for the first time in over 25 years. I don't know about the rest of the family, but I had a blast!
Now, eleven years later, I am still trying to fill in all the gaps! I don't think I will ever be finished with my chore! And that is what keeps me going -- I love the challenge of trying to find those missing pieces.
I keep thinking of the words of that old hymn -- "I'm ready when you call me, but give me just a little more time!"
