Before I begin a little of my story, let me say if you want to manage one of my memorials, please let me know and explain your relationship. I have many who may have direct descendants, and I will happy to transfer them. Sharing information is a great way to gain more family knowledge.
Many years ago, when I first became interested in researching family history, I had sixteen aunts and uncles, including in-laws who were in the family before I arrived. And back then both my parents were still "on the land among the living." Since my mother was in the hospital almost as much as she was home, I was taken care of by my grandmothers and aunts. This meant I knew most my family for my whole life.
Genealogy is one of my favorite hobbies now that I have no aunts, uncles, or parents. Fortunately, I did take advantage of talking with most of them about their memories. Too bad, I did not listen to my grandparents, nor did most of my cousins.
However I worked for Southern Bell for over 33 years, and have several other activities, including painting. Not being blessed with children, I contributed to 'raising' two of my deceased husband's and consider them my own. Now there are two more who are my current husband's.
Finding a young family member interested in Genealogy is a true delight for me. [So, Kids, let me hear from you!] Believe me, I know where most of the bodies are buried.
Additional information and comments are very welcome.
