I am a genealogist at heart and try very hard to find information and links for the memorials I create (and am aware that I am human and do make mistakes) so I am happy to add information and make corrections. |
I am also happy to do transfers but please don't send me a transfer request just stating "transfer it to me so I can update it" or ask me to link to "burial unknowns." Every edit or transfer request I receive gets researched and checked against the people buried near them to see if I can find a connection. So please if you have the information, use the edit tab to send the suggestion and THEN ask for the transfer.
Also I create memorials for families so please do not ask for a transfer because you are collecting Civil War soldiers, Pioneers, or whole cemeteries etc. These were real people, not something to be collected and I refuse to treat them as such.
Thank you to all the volunteers that have added photos, send corrections or shared stories or obituaries with me about the memorials in my care. And to those who kindly accept the many edit/link requests that I send out.
A note about photos:
I have been using the beta photo up-loader and one of its quirks is that it doesn't show you if there is already a photo on a memorial. I have tried to delete any duplicate photos I have accidentally added but if you find I have missed one please feel free to let me know.

Sincere appreciations for the transfer of my friend's memorial.
Hi Mary - I have just re-started my family tree work. I had worked on this with my grandmother and mother but put aside when my mom passed in 2013 and have just restarted.
You have several members of my maternal grandfathers family posted by you on Find a Grave, I have lots of photos and am working on bios for the family members.
I wonder since you have so many - if perhaps you also happen to be related to me. The entries I have come across so far are -
Frank L Gifford - maternal great-grandfather
Ida A Bierline Gifford - maternal great-grandmother
Bonnie R Gifford MacFarlan - maternal great aunt
Horace "Mac" MacFarlan - maternal great uncle
These entries are all in Lakewood Cemetery. (MN)
Byrd A Gifford Townsend (maternal great aunt) is also buried in the same Lot and the person who listed her graciously moved her to me to manage.
I also found that you have posted Harry Weyman Gifford (SD) (spouse Maggie May) who I believe is the brother to my maternal great-grandfather Frank. The child listed however - does not seem to match - I have a son named Comelius - perhaps a sibling of Stacy?
Would you object to me managing the Gifford graves or would you like additional information for you to update?

I enjoy reading old newspapers at the Library of Congress website. Today, I found an obituary for Christ A. Boehme in the New Ulm Review (New Ulm, MN) of 11/29/1916. I believe it is the gentleman in your memorial. The age and location are correct. It describes this man as a generous man who cared for his community and he was thought highly of. It does have him survived by a wife and two children. I have attached a link, as I thought you might like to see it.

How surprised to see the "long lost" Marilla Bartholomew Mountain and her family are in Aberdeen SD!
Thank you for finding and posting and linking these memorials. The family records had this couple "going West" after the Civil War and disappearing.
Also unfortunately, a couple years ago I created a memorial for EACH of them with burial "unknown" but with bio info about their originating families in Minnesota. Your memorials are dated a year earlier. So mine will need be removed. But I would like to combine in all the data for a more complete memorial
I also created memorials for their two young children that died in Minnesota as they stayed with their grandparents in Northfield MN during the Indian Uprisings nearby. I can link them to the final memorials for the parents.
I know how much work goes into creating a memorial. I have quite a bit of data on Marilla especially. So I understand that you may be reluctant to transfer--but that is what I am requesting.
Might you consider transferring MARILLA'S record (#107406577) to me and I will combine my later data with your record. My memorial is # 133046772. so you can see the overlap.
Her husband James Mountain (#107406565) also homesteaded in MN initially and they were married in MN as my records show. I would very much appreciate being able to have BOTH of these memorials. Their later born children and their wives and later families I did not even know about and so I am just thankful to have been able to find Marilla and her husband. I am not requesting the children of this couple.
Please get back to me on this modest request.Thank you.. D. Montgomery # 47122518
I would like to request if Michele Spangler's memorial (Memorial# 124728487)could be transferred over to me if you are not related to her. She was a very close and dear friend of mine, and I would so much like to take care of her memorial, adding information and a poem. I also would like to add a photograph or two. I miss her to this day.

Hello Mary, wanted to thank you for posting the head stone picture of my 2nd cousin Milton Edmund Caldwell. I was wanting to ask if you would considered transferring his memorial (#107821572) over to me if not part of your family.

Good Day Mary,
Are you the creator of Ashburn Cemetery/Burns Presbyterian Church? The address is incorrect.
785 Myrtle Rd W is Ashburn not Whitby. Burns Presbyterian Church located beside at 765 Myrtle Rd W Ashburn, ON.
I have noticed several sites have it listed incorrectly. I have a spread sheet to upload.
I need to also contact the creator of a duplicate cemetery, but I would like to get this corrected first.
Burns Prebyterian Church Cemetery(Ashburn)

Thank you for adding my great grandfather Edward Blackwood. Find A Grave Memorial# 151656705
I have posted a photo of his grave marker and wondered if you would please edit the year. I also added a photo of my grandmother at his grave, he passed due to the flu epidemic when she was just a toddler. I have recently began my family geneology and have been active with this site as well. Thank you very much
Are you related to the Claude Swift buried at Aberdeen, whom you listed? I don't know much about him. I can't find his parents. I see you have quite a few entries for the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. I have family buried there, so I remembered the name.
