I am a genealogist at heart and try very hard to find links for the memorials I create so I am happy to add information and make corrections. |
I create memorials to connect families so I am happy to do transfers when the request includes information. HOWEVER I NO LONGER BLINDLY TRANSFER to anyone who sends an edit to me that just says "transfer to me and I will update it." This is not because I don't want to do transfers but because I have done several transfers only to find out later that they were the wrong person and the new "caretaker" is not interested in fixing the mistake.
With that said I love receiving edits and corrections! Especially with the enhancements to the edit feature. It's a big goal, but I have a goal of trying to link every memorial I have created to at least one family member (and more if I can find them) and welcome all the help I can get.

I notice that you uploaded what looks like a burial transcription for several Kegley infants in Riverside Cemetery. Were there no dates? I have dates and would love to "match" up the infants if possible. I am also concerned that there are duplicates for the infant son. My understanding is that they only had one son who died as an infant named William Robert and he is already on site. All of the other babies that died were female.

Hi again Mary. I have another favor/request for transfer consideration to management of these memorials at Riverside Cem in Aberdeen.
Ell Geringer and Laura Geringer are my great, great grandparent, and Albert Baldwin is my step great grandfather.
I have a lot of information and a few pictures to add to the record.
Thanks for every thing you do for us and for being a valued part of "Find A Grave".
|Steve Carlson||RE: Thank you|
I appreciate all of your edits. It takes a lot more time to make the edits than to approve them.
Thank you for all of the work that you put into Lakewood.

On Roy Seidschlaw -
Thank you, thank you - I was concerned my error was going to cause a mess. And thank you for transferring the memorial to me.
On your question about the graves next to Roy (108238244). I know of no related Schroeder's to the Seidschlaw family.
On Margaret Seidschlaw Krakow (next to Roy in the cemetery) I have no records related to her as to a relationship to Roy. I don't know of a wife for Roy. I really don't have a whole lot about him.
However, Roy had a brother Harry that had a wife in Calif named Margaret. This sounds a bit of a stretch - but something to be aware of as I do research.
Through a little research today, I found a Margaret Krakow that died March 28 1982 from a terrible fire in Aberdeen SD at the Spur Hotel (March 15 1982) where she was manager. Margaret had sisters and daughters, some from the Mellette area. This Margaret is buried at Riverside cemetery in Aberdeen.
I have information on Roy, that stated he was the manager of the Spur Hotel for two years prior to his death in 1978. This suggests to me that she may have been Roy's wife? or Harry's wife and buried there, and maybe went back to a maiden name after Roy's death or she remarried someone named Krakow.
I have an obit for Margaret that lists some of her family but nothing about any Seidschlaw's.
This looks to be an interesting one to resolve. Let me know if you are going to work on it and I will keep in touch and share anything more I discover. I'm working on too many family lines to do much on this one for a while.
Thanks again, so very much.

I just sent edits for Frederick Steffen and Mabel Steffen.
Frederick is my great uncle. He was married twice. His first wife, Edith, died from complications from child birth (blood clot a couple of weeks after delivering a baby that had died). He remarried to Mabel (middle name spelled 2 different ways on documents I have found) about 4 months later. I just wanted to clarify so when you saw the 2 different marriage links, you would know that was correct.
|Robert Champlin||Champlin's in Riverside Cemetery|
Thank you for posting the photos of the gravestones of Mary Jane Larkin Champlin and John Champlin, who are buried in the Riverside Cemetery at Aberdeen (Brown County) SD.
Unfortunately, I think there's been a mix-up.
Mary Jane Larkin was the wife of Oren Alonzo Champlin. The dates on her gravestone match what I have for her. I do not know who John Champlin was but the photo of his gravestone shows birth and death dates that match those of Oren Alonzo Champlin (according to my records - 1851-1918).
Also, you have indicated on John Champlin's memorial that John died in 1937 and that he is buried in a different plot.
In other words, I think the gravestone photo attributed to John Champlin is that of Oren Champlin.
Can you shed any further light on who John Champlin may have been? Who else is buried in the same plot as he is?

I'm sorry, I was adding family names last night and I added one that you already had listed. I just noticed it today while reviewing the work.
I added Roy Seidschlaw 138817207, my uncle.
You already had Roy as 108238244.
I'm new to this and not sure what to do? I would like to keep management of the documentation as I have started to list my entire family on line. I have a lot of information and photos. It has taken me years to track all this down.
Would you consider transfer of the management of this one and maybe?, some others in Riverside at Aberdeen that you do not have details on?
Again, so sorry, how would you like to handle this?

|DG Bender||Re: Katherina (Doerr) Gall|
Thank you for the transfer Mary, very much appreciated.
Although Katherina was somewhat of a distant relative of mine, I put whole lot of effort into initially finding her and then compiling her life's journey.
Thanks again for helping,

Thanks for the transfer. I have merged the two entries and saved your original entry.
