Bio

I received a letter in 1977 from a person who was doing every Almy (my maiden name)in the US as there was only one Almy who immigrated and that we are all related. I started filling out his forms and reading the "Almy" newsletter he sent me and ended up getting hooked on genealogy and have been doing it ever since. I never get bored with it and I have learned so much about this country and its life styles and turmoils over the years,as well as my family and their surounding areas that you could never be taught in a school. You find love, laughter, sadness and depression and everything in between. You live history through the lives and eyes of others and family;it makes it alive and you become more sensitive to your surroundings.

We didn't have computers in 1977,and we started out searching through cemeteries. They are a vital aspect in our lives. They tell us who we are and where we came from. You are surrounded by people and yet it is a resting place in many ways and you learn a lot as you walk through and read about those who went before you.

I am thankful for web sites like "Find A Grave" who are trying to preserve our history and in so preserve our present and future.
