Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm thrilled to have found this website, and enjoy adding to the Harshman family across the country. I owe all of the information to Charles William Harshman and his wife Mavourneen Harshman who documented all the Harshman in the U.S. in their first two books through about 1976. They put together thousands of extended Harshman family members without a computer. My first entry to FAG was my younger brother Douglas Asa "Doug" Harshman who passed away in 2009.

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is to late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, and bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find the spot,
And come to visit you.

In eternal honor of our ancestors
Who left behind so much,
Who started here with so little,
That we might have everything.

Cemetery Spelling ?
Is there a typo for the name of the "Christian Hartsman 2nd Family Cemetery" or should it have been "Harshman"? Do you know who originally submitted this cemetery? Just a picky picky.
Isn't Gravin' fun?

A "shirttail" cousin, Larry H.

Hi Nelson,
I am a 5th great grandchild of these two and mustthank you for the fantastic rendering of the cemetery where they were put to rest. Best I've ever seen. Thank you very much.

RE: Update
You are very welcome. Thank you for the information. In retrospect, I could trace the name changes in the census records, but would never have picked up on it without your input.

RE: Transfer
You are most welcome. As I said before, my records only listed Mr. Harshman and I have no way to prove or disprove who he was.

Yes to your question about Jacob Harshman, He is buried at Old Prospect.
The Harshmans married into my family a couple of times in the Randolph and Jay co Areas.
I will be glad to make any links you send as always..

Merry Christmas
