I inherited by interest in genealogy from my mother, Doris Sue Spence Fontaine (Memorial # 83062091). Growing up, a Sunday afternoon ride through the country usually included a cemetery visit which I affectionately call a cemetery hop.|
A few years ago I decided to make her handwritten or typed pages into an electronic format after encouragement from family and friends. In many instances, she left behind clues for me to follow in my adventures today.
You are welcome to use any of the photos that have been posted to the memorials. I would appreciate if you would kindly give me credit for my efforts when using them.
~ I'm the Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Granddaughter of Rev Jaques James Fontaine IV and Anne Elizabeth Boursiquot Fontaine, Huguenot Refugees from France who first settled in Devonshire & later in Ireland. It was his dying wish that all members of his family remain close through the ages and to aid one another in times of strife. From his wishes was formed The Fontaine-Maury Society which today is an active thriving organization whose mission is to strengthen the family bonds of the Fontaine and Maury families.

|Toot||William Cornett grave|
On your find a grave page is a picture of an elderly man. Is that William Cornett and where did you find it? I am a great great great granddaughter of William Cornett and would love to know where you found that picture.
Also on that page was a history of several surnames. What is the source of the portion of the Cornett history?

No, I'm sorry, I don't have any information about him. I enjoy taking photos of graves to help others find the graves of their family members. I just happened to be in the area visiting my grandchildren, and stopped by this quaint little cemetery, and took some pictures. I did think that the marker with all the names on it was unusual. It was surrounded by several individual small headstones, and all of it was fenced in by a hedge. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If they contact the Christ's Church, they may be able to find out something.

Thank you for her obituary and burial info. Hopefully, someone can now find her gravestone and her husband's gravestone so a photo can be posted to Find A Grave.

After entering this grave of Harry and Maude gearing, I did an ancestry search and found your entry with burial location unknown. So, I thought you might want to know about this. Is it the same person? Are you related? I am not... Let me know what you would like me to do, i.e. transfer to you, delete, etc.
All the best, -Hal

I took photos of what appear to be this couple in Greenwood Cemetery, Bedford VA resting not far from their son Wyndell Grimsley Halsey # 138762811.
Their dates are June 20, 1876, Dec 11, 1974 for Cebert # 138762963
and Oct 27, 1886, Nov 25, 1976 for Eva # 138762946.
If these dates match the records in question they should be moved to Greenwood Cemetery.

Thank you as always for you continuing help with "gathering my nuts"
Your recent transfer of:
Richard Dale Green # 96619068
is very much appreciated.
Now we just need to delete:
Ralph Gale Green # 96619097
and all is well.
|EAHJr||William Carr Allen|
I was notified that William Carr Allen and wife, Susan Sayers Morris Allen, are actually buried in the Millirons and Allen Families Cemetery in Pulaski, Va. These were created by the late Becky Sowers. There are already memorials for William and Susan Allen in that cemetery so Becky's are now duplicates. Please move your image of William and Susan's marriage certificate to the existing memorials in the Millirons and Allen Cemetery and I will delete the old ones. Thanks for all you do for Find a Grave!

How have you solved the mystery? The tombstone is in Maple Park Cemetery, but another family member shes was moved to Monte Vista. The cemetery no longer has any records.
