The first of my family to be born outside of Indiana, most of my paternal ancestors came from Waaren and Benton counties and Clay County, Illinois. My mother's family came out of Knox, Owen and Greene Counties. My mother, father and three of my grandparents all moved to California just prior to or shortly after Pearl Harbor.
