I am posting what I know about the folks who were buried at several family cemeteries that would likely be overlooked otherwise, then linking them to as many descendants as practicable. Each of these cemeteries includes a gravesite of the first family member to reside on the land on which the cemetery was established.
I have been very pleased to learn that many other people are interested in memorializing those who have gone before us, and are eager to share what they know to make each memorial as accurate as possible.
RE: Delia Taylor Unable to confirm source for Wales...I may be in error. I did find info that a Dr. Gilbert D. Taylor was a Methodist missionary to the people of color in Franklin and Lawrence counties in Alabama. Was this the same Dr. Taylor as the father of Delia?
# 100051768 Herman lee Smith I am working on his father James Thomas Smith and because he was my great grandmother Anthanetta "Nettie" Smith Eaves"s brother. I know his children Herman, Bessie and Bruce but I can't find his marriage to Lulu or his and her deaths. Do you have anything on this?
Anne Johnson - Mt. Moriah Cemetery Her stone is not legible now. I was there yesterday. If you go on southernmiddletennesseecemteries.com and then go to Mt. Moriah - there is a photo of her stone some 8 to 10 years ago.
Yes, I am checking everything and have found out how often records are incorrect as well as tombstones. As of toady aI have 77,280 (Seventy-seven thousand two hundred and eighty) names. I have been at this since 1985 when I became disabled. I had to have something to get me out of bed each day
It is by the dedication and good work of those like you that help. Thank you,
