Scott ~ I made the correction for Rachel Calvert and can't tell you how very grateful I am that you so generously shared this info.

You stated: According to her funeral notice in the Omaha newspaper Mrs. Calvert was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.

Is there any possobility of getting a copy of that obit? ~ Jo C

Thomas May
Thanks for transferring. I will attempt to identify his children. I think my great grandmother, Mary Jane May McDonald, raised one of them.

Thomas May, Memorial No. 99880432
Dear Scott, I'm submitting an edit for his birth date and place. He was 8 months old and born in Iowa, according to the 1860 Census for Olive Township, Clinton County, Iowa. Thus I'm estimating he was born in December 1859. Thomas's parents, Timothy and Mary Tobin May, and Thomas's grandparents, immigrated from Ontario, Canada, in the late 1850s. The Mrs. McDonald in the newspaper article is my great grandmother, Mary Jane May McDonald, who lived at the 3632 Parker St. address.

If you wish, feel free to transfer management of the memorial.

RE: Francis Morton
Scott, Francis Morton's mother was Catherine Brady who was my 2nd great aunt as HER father, John Brady (1827-1905) was my 2nd great grandfather.

So unless you are more direct relative, you can transfer his memorial to me.

Scratch previous reply. I did find the parents - that was the edit. Duh!

RE: Joseph Welte
I'm not a family member, either. I do some FG research in Woodford Co, IL, and lately I've been going through old parish records. I don't know where the parents are, but some of Joseph's siblings are in El Paso, IL.

reply to edit request
Scott, You are not coming across as polite. Find a grave gives me 30 days to process a request. From their manual-

"What if I suggest a correction and the contributor doesn't respond?
Have patience. Many contributors receive hundreds of corrections every month and it may take a while for your correction to be processed. Also, not every Find A Grave contributor is active on a daily basis on the site. Please send the source and documentation with your 'suggest a correction'. If you have suggested a correction and waited longer than thirty days for it to be processed or if you have found a contributor who you believe to be permanently inactive, please send the correction (forward the 'suggest a correction' that you sent) to edit@findagrave.com along with source and documentation, and we will edit the memorial on their behalf."

I have told you that my intention is to research the matter further. I am requesting you to be patient and give me a chance to do that. Have a nice day. Iris

And sometimes, it creates a second link to the spouse. Identical. It drives me nuts. I spend a lot of time correcting errors made by the system. I imagine that you do, too. Good interfacing with you.
