Bio

I grew up in McNairy County Tennessee, just a couple miles from Mars Hill Cemetery. My Carothers family came to McNairy County at the end of 1848 from Bedford County, Tennessee. From my ggg grandfather, Thomas Carothers, who was born about 1773 and died in the early 1850's, down to my siblings, are all buried at Mars Hill. I heard the stories all through my youth, and realized that they'd all be lost in a few more years if someone didn't start keeping records; so I started. That was 44 years ago. In all these years I have collected stories, photographs, and data from relatives, researchers, and rank strangers all over the country. I enjoy it, and I use this means to share with others, and to memorialize all those family members who all lived life had and stories to tell.
