I started my genealogy hobby in earnest Jan 2011. Most of my relatives on my father's side are from Pennsylvania and on my mother's side from Ohio and Michigan. I am willing to share any info and take pictures of headstones.

John Preston
Hi, My name is Linda and I have been doing research on my family for some time. Charles Walter Preston is my great-great-great grandfather, and John Preston's brother. I just noticed that on his death certificate, which you posted on his memorial, that it lists his mother's maiden name. Unfortunately, I am unable to make it out. Could you please message me and let me know what it is? Greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance,
Linda Hughes

RE: Karl Schwerdtfeger.
AFter looking at August Frank Death Certificate on seeking michigan seems they be siblings - same parents so I don't feel comfortable at this time putting Melching as her maiden name even though it possible it is. but after reading AF bio that would blow their meeting on the boat by chance not being true. I did find something that possible she was married to an Charles Meyers before August Frank? but still searching. I know on all the children certificates she states Melching so either she kept the name or definitely is an Melching but having same parents would make them siblings not cousins. So either her daughter did an mistake on filling out the information for Frieda gave wrong information on AF
