Bio and Links
Bio Photo I signed up to take photo requests in Whiteside County, ILLINOIS but caught the bug to dig further into my own family. Spending more time in Winnebago County to revisit my childhood but finding my roots are more in German Valley in Ogle County on my dad's side with the Brauer/Pollard line and Granby, Quebec, Canada & Durand, IL on my mom's side for the Parker/Hanford line. Check out my virtual cemeteries and if you have any info, shoot me a line. Happy Linking!

Remembering F.A.G. colleague, Ellen Kennedy. I did not know Ellen personally but have seen her presence on many memorials in our local area. May God hold her and her family in the palm of his hand.

Remembering my cousin and fallen graver, Gary Boomgaarden, who passed away on January 3, 2013 at the age of 61. We had just found each other the previous year when I messaged him one late night after repeatedly seeing STEAMERFAN on all of my relatives memorials. As it turns out, we share the same great-great-grandparents. I am so sorry I was not ever able to meet him in person but so glad we did meet up through F.A.G. Since being a member, he added 16,951 memorials. Thank you Gary for all of your contributions here!!!! We will all miss you ~ I will miss you! ღ

Thanks to Loren Carlson, who is not only from my home town, but has created many of the memorials for my relatives and has graciously transferred them to me when requested, starting with my brother's memorial. Thank you Loren for answering all of my questions. Second is Gary Boomgaarden aka Steamerfan. He was a great resource for learning more of our family history on my dad's side, and obtaining the Boomgaarden (with two AA's) book. And thank you D. Frederick Birely for teaching me to make my memorials more in depth than just slapping up names and dates. Thank you Dale!

Happy Spring 2014 everyone!!!! Have already trekked to the cemetery a few times for photo requests. Yay!

Thank You
Thank you Connie for transferring my great-grandparents, Fred & Aletha Mead to me without me even asking you to. I really appreciate it.
Thanks again, Kendra

RE: Curious
Thanks Connie, appreciate the info. Odd that the name issue comes up after decades isn't it? :)

If not for your photo I would have never known

Thanks for your kind words, Connie. Gary used to call on our church office as the copier repairman. While he was there, he would often take a few pictures and create memorials in our adjacent cemetery. Our paths crossed frequently on Find A Grave, and he encouraged me to add photos to his memorials (he said that photography was not his specialty). Last year, my wife and I met in Luverne with the gentleman who wrote Gary's Find A Grave memorial. We shared stories fond memories about our friend, "steamerfan".

RE: Grave Kit
Let's see, I have a soft bristle wallpaper brush, trowel, spritzer w/water, pencils, note paper, every record for every OC cemetery I've accumulated over the years, and aluminum foil when all else fails. I really hope to keep up with Fairmount, but the "can't finds" are already accumulating!

RE: Lulu Belle Parker !!!
Yes. You may use my picture for ancestery.com. I know how you feel about finding a long lost relative. I am tracking down my family also. That's how I got started taking cemetery pictures.
