I grew up just north of the Asphult Lutheran Church Cemetery. Most of the people buried there are related one way or other. Feel free to contact me on that!! I love doing the Family History. Some of the surnames in my tree include, Pearson, Kullman, Enerson, Halvorson, Sandbakken, Sunde, Verplanks, Sorenson, Sampson, Querna, Herberg, Neste, Lunos, Koppang, Lieberg and many more!
Hans Norby Hi Mary Thanks for getting back to me. Yes that is the info I have but I think he must have died up near Fosston not in Tunesberg. I checked with Chippewa Co Hist Society and they could find no death record for him there. I will have to do more digging. Do you know if there are good resources at the Polk Co Hist Society? Thanks, Jody
Hans Norby Hi Mary, You posted an unmarked grave for Hans Norby at the Poplar River Cemetery in Fosston. How did you find it and would there be any more info on this grave? I am 99% certain this is my great-great-great grandfather. I have his dates as 10/2/1839 and died sometime in 1893. His second wife Sigrid and he lived in Fosston after moving from Big Bend, MN. He died and she remarried to Eli Ryland. She is buried next to him at the Emardville Cemetery in Red Lake County. Do you know who I could contact for more info on unmarked graves in the Poplar River Cemetery? Thanks, Jody Kashmark Harmon
