I had always wondered how my American-born father of Mexicans parents had the last name of Wallace. It was a nice easy name to remember, but still in the back of my head - always that question; where? Asking questions,I started with Ancestry and Family Search and discovered that we had not taken the name of one of the Catholic priests that came to Mexico (my theory). Our Wallace ancestor came from Canada in the 1850's, married his Mexican wife, had lots of sons, and thus the Wallace name in Mexico. Now I have a ton more questions to answer, but one at a time.
