I'm just getting around to requesting the removal of more memorial pictures that I took myself when I traveled down to Mississippi. If you can remove the picture off the following as I have the picture that I took two weeks ago now posted. 85978181 85978219 85978263 My shot of Larry's (85996114)grave marker came out blurry. If you are up that way and can take another shot that would be nice, otherwise, I rather both shots to remain on his page. Thank you~ Susan Hill
I have traveled down to Mississippi this week to take pictures of all family members that I maintain. I was able to get a real good picture of my aunt's marker so that the Hummingbird showed up really well. Please remove your picture on my aunt's memorial page # 85978344 Thank you Susan Hill
Thanks for your response. Do you have contact information for Dr. Carroll's son, his name, address and a phone number? I would like to talk with him and get permission to look over the property. The lake land and land to the east of the lake was owned by my Holman ancestors in the mid 1800s and I would like to look for any unmarked cemeteries. My 3x great grandfather died in 1855 and we don't know where he is buried, but he owned 280 acres where the Carroll Lake is today.
I sure wished you could look on Google Earth and try to locate the cemetery and then provide me the GPS coordinates or the actual road names, such as Carroll Lake Dr or exact mile measure from the Cemetery Rd/Winona Rd intersection to the turnoff road onto Carroll property. I can email you a satellite image showing the Carroll property area with the old Holman boundary lines overlaid. My email is klholman (at) bellsouth.net. Thanks. Larry Holman
Lizzie Buckland Hansbrough Hello Cindy, Let me tell you who I am. I am the great granddaughter of Lizzie. My grandmother was her only daughter who was called Nellie in her older years. My daughter Liz is named for these ladies. I know that Lizzie died five months after my grandmother was born and he married Edna Riddle. I recently visited the cemetery with my brother. I could not locate a tombstone for Lizzie or for her only son Harry (my grandmother's real older brother) in the cemetery. Many stones were unreadable and the "story" has it that Lizzie's stone was crushed by a large limb. Lizzie has always been such a mystery to me. Did you actually see a tombstone? Do you know anything about Harry's tombstone as well?
My grandfather was Ed Holman of N. Carrollton buried in Evergreen. I am familiar with Eden Cemetery where my g-grandfather Wm. H Holman is buried. On what CR road and then what private road is this cemetery located? If you have the GPS coordinates of it that would be great. Thanks again for the Holman gravestones photos you put on Findagrave.
Thanks for writing me. I am always working in many cemeteries at once throughout the northern/ central tier of Essex County, MA. Worked especially heavy in Mt. Prospect Cemetery this year as well at Harmony in Georgetown, and I've still got a few thousand photos yet to process from Mt. Prospect. I work with my friends the Dodges who do excellent research, and I for the most part am the gravestone photo-guy. I do research myself also on many of the memorials. Good luck with your research!
RE: Elie Marceaux Thank you, Cindy for this. No, I don't want to take any others from you. Most of the Marceaux's in the Gueydan Cemetery are my relatives. I will just continue adding information to them as I can. But Elie Marceaux's is sufficient. The grave next to him is my Grandmother's, his wife. She is unmarked. I am working now to get a headstone put there. The problem is I only have an estimated death year for her. I know she died just before my Dad in 1962, so I believe she died sometime in 1961, but I can't be sure. I have tried the Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia, I know she went through there (in St. Martinville, but the records are kept in New Iberia) They can't seem to find her record. Also I have tried the LA State Archives & can't find anything there either. So I am at a loss at this point. Can you think of anywhere else I can check. She did not have a church service that I know of. Thanks again & also for the prompt attention.
Elie Marceaux Hi Cindy, I usually don't ask anyone to turn over maintenance of a grave site, but this is my maternal Grandfather. I would really appreciate it, if you would be willing to turn this one over to me,if not I will understand.
