I grew up in Cades, SC which was named for my mother's family. As a young lad, I would spend nights with my Grandfather who would describe how life was during the 1890's in the deep south. He also related many stories about great-grandfather's civil war experiences. The internet was a door opening into the history of the south. Much of my time is spent during research and sadly, due to age and distance, little in the field. I am always eager to hear from others doing cemetery research in Williamsburg County, SC.
