Bio

I am well rooted in German Ridge, Perry Co. Indiana. My grandfather, Jacob Lauer, came from Germany to America in 1863. The family settled in German Ridge where he grew up. He married my grandmother, Mary Aichelmann, who also came to America in 1870 from Germany, settling at German Ridge in the early 1880's. All seven of the Lauer children were born and grew up there. My father is Clarence Lauer. Also my mother's great-grandfather, William Samuel Schwartz, and his wife, Wilhelmina, settled at German Ridge in the mid 1860's. My father moved the family to Indianapolis about 1940 where I was born and grew up. Now I live in Greenwood, Indiana. My brother and I became interested in genealogy in the spring of 2010, learning so much about our family, There was so much we did not know. I have had the privilege of reuniting with a cousin, and meeting cousins I did not know. What a WONDERFUL journey.
