My fascination with cemeteries began when I was on active duty in the United States Army. I'm a trumpet player and served as an Army Bandsman for twenty years. During that time I performed Taps at military funerals on more occasions than I can remember. |
While waiting for the funeral procession to arrive I would spend as much time as possible walking through the cemetery reading tombstones. It proved to be a very interesting way to pass the time. Now that I'm a member of the Find A Grave community I can put that interest to good use.
I've either created or manage all memorials for my immediate family, so my focus at this point is creating memorials for others and fulfilling as many local photo requests as possible.

Thank you so much for creating a memorial for Valerie Pamela Allen. I was a friend of hers for several years and have not been able to locate her final resting place or next of kin.

|Ray A Weeks||M. J. Weeks|
Ray Weeks here, I think this is my great grandfather, George Mordicai Jackson Weeks. He was addressed as MJ and Jake. I have been looking for his grave for quite some time. He died in 1912 at the age of 37. My grandfather, Collis Robert Weeks, was just 12 at the time. Jake and his wife Nancy, had a house full of children.
Do you know if there are any surviving internment records for Moore Cemetery? I live in Atlanta but grew up just across the Chattahoochie River in Blakely, Early County, Georgia. I don't get down there much these days and most especially during the week when things are open for business.
