My Grant-Stuart Family Heritage:

"Yea, I have a goodly heritage." - Psalm 16:6

The Grant-Stuart side of my family tree is my mother's side. My Grant-Stuart ancestral lineage descends directly back to Robert Stuart, King Robert II of Scotland. This Royal Stuart ancestral lineage, which extends directly back to King Robert I of Scotland (Robert The Bruce) through the Barons Of Kincardine, is documented on the following memorial page: Dr. James Stuart #100915735. Also, much of my genealogical lineage has been documented by the NSDAR.

The Wakeman side of my family is my father's side. John Wakeman, the first American ancestor, was a founder of New Haven, CT; he also became the Treasurer of New Haven Colony, CT. John Wakeman was originally a merchant in Bewdley, England before helping to found New Haven Colony, CT in 1637. The family owned three ships and were timber merchants in the New World. Other Wakeman family members of prominence include The Rt. Reverend John Wakeman, Bishop of Gloucester, who was the private chaplain to King Henry VIII. Rt. Reverend John Wakeman's brother was the Rev. William Wakeman who was an Anglican Priest at St. Mary at Kidderminster. It is partly from the estate left by The Right Reverend John Wakeman to the Rev. William Wakeman's heirs that the Wakeman family established their ancestral homelands and a name of prominence and prestige in England. I am directly descended from the Rev. William Wakeman, the brother of Bishop John Wakeman. Other prominent ancestors in my direct lineage include Gov. Thomas Wells, Hartford Colony, CT.; Deputy Gov. Stephen Goodyear, New Haven Colony, CT; and Gov. John Strong, MA.

I am, by profession, a school teacher and a writer/author. I also enjoy doing genealogical research and genealogical documentation very much. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education, and an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling-School Counselor.

Lastly, I have direct ancestral lineage to these Revolutionary War Patriots as follows: (1) Josiah (Joseph) Graves, Jr. (MA), (2) Josiah Graves, Sr. (MA), (3) Francis Beard (NY), (4) John Wakeman (CT), (5) Epaphras Goodsell (CT), (6) Zebulon Cornell (NY), (7) Joshua Gage (NH), (8) David Curtis (CT), (9) Seth Curtis (CT),(10) Nehemiah Chapman (CT), (11) Morris Simmons Sturges (CT), and (12) John Green (NY). I also have direct ancestral lineage to these Revolutionary War Loyalists as follows: (1) Dr. James Stuart (NY), and (2) Johan Adam Papst (NY), who are on the Grant-Stuart side of my family tree.

My lineage descends to King Robert I, of Scotland (Robert The Bruce) is as follows:
